Tag 'O Three

3 Joys
- Reading a new book (or an old book, for that matter)
- Taekwondo
- Spending time with my family and friends, like playing Guitar Hero today

3 Fears
- The dark. Really, I'm afraid of the dark.
- Someone close to me dying. It hasn't happened to me before, so I don't know how I'd handle that.
- Heights. Unoriginal, but true. Just ask Nicole: we were on a bus headed through the Three Gorges area in China when all of a sudden we came out of a tunnel and we were on this bridge spanning right between two mountain peaks. We were literally hundreds of feet above the Yangtze river and it scared the bejeezus out of me. Needless to say, I positively leaped from my position on the far right of the bus in order to get away from the edge of the bridge.

3 Goals
- Serve a mission (I'm hoping for Japan or the Netherlands)
- Get my black belt before I go on a mission
- Walk/run/bike at least 470 miles by the end of the year (to Isengard!)

3 Current Obsessions/Collections
- Lord of the Rings. I'm rereading the books, which I haven't done since high school.
- Martial arts. I know, it's a cop-out since I used it above, but really, I love martial arts. I hope to pick up a little kung fu in China.
- Character/theme t-shirts. So far my collection includes Snape, Hiro Nakamura, the Justice League, Lego Batman, 3 Rush shirts, and one with the Slytherin crest. Oh yeah, and the one that says "I <3 Halliburton." Ha ha. Cute, isn't it? *winks*

3 Surprises About Me
- I really like the smell of skunks.
- One of the things I've always struggled with is the feeling of self-doubt (not that I'm looking for sympathy). I'm learning to overcome that.
- My favorite place in the world is Keukenhof - the famous Amsterdam flower garden and the most photographed spot on Earth.

My apologies to Aunt Kelly, who tagged me in her post. I didn't know I was supposed to do one myself, but thanks for letting me know! As for my three tags, I guess I'll do Mom, Nicole, and Maryanne.

Since there is not much worth blogging about for me these days, I'm going to post one of my favorite YouTube videos.  It's pretty short, so watch the whole thing.  It's really quite hilarious.  Brian Regan is one of my favorite comics, and this video is great.  This kid has added in footage of himself... anyway, you get the idea.

Decorating

Ha ha, I had no idea I had so many people excited about my starting a blog!  My original plan was just to have a blog to keep everyone updated while I was in China, but since I got such a great response from my readers (I feel like a celebrity, saying that ^_^) I figured I might as well start it now.
Yesterday I purchased and assembled this long-desired bookcase, courtesy of Ikea.  Having built it all by myself, I feel quite proud of my accomplishment.  Check out all its majesty:
Eh, might as well add a couple of pictures of my whole room.  This room has always been a bit of a "decorating challenge" for Mom and I, but I think we're finally starting to get it together.  The pictures don't really do it justice.  It does look quite nice.  And, ok, I'll admit the cardboard cutout of Aragorn is a little on the tacky side, but, come on!  It's Aragorn for cryin' out loud!  He's friggin' awesome.
This desk and wall area just makes me happy.  I'm really pleased with how it has worked out, but please excuse my desk; it is more cluttered here than normal because I'm in the middle of rearranging my whole room.  See my Rush calendar on the left?  LOVE IT!  I am so taking it with me to China.  There's no way in heck that I can survive that long without my Boys.  <3 onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjmj9V8YwRVG0n9m-LeBT06nvyv87QCoRMk8VoCHTg2plaYti3hFbZuzMedMubezbePMe8Vt1zb_DNHXG6ZGxndhCrDqVgdb9kKWeli7Nesdyqph8kAoTQAhPLM1zt5UzTHgV9dEwrj-tw/s1600-h/IMGP3690.JPG"> I have a thing for naming my inanimate possessions.  For instance: Hiro the Guitar (*hugs*) in the corner and my lappy Katsumoto on the desk, not to mention Nobutada the iPod and Bobby Singer, my car.  It's silly, but fun.  I find I take better care of my possessions when I name them.  It probably is some psychological thing about attachment.  But how would I know?  I never took psychology.

Testing, testing, 1-2-3...
